From June 4 to 7, DIVA and Bundang Jesaeng Hospital, along with Cizen Medical Foundation, conducted medical volunteer work for low-income local residents at a health center in Binh Yen commune Thai Nguyen Province, Vietnam. DIVA provided first aid training for local government employees and hygiene education for Binh Yen elementary school teachers, students, and school parents.
The medical service team consisted of some medical personnel from radiology, family medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, neurosurgery, rehabilitation medicine, nursing department, and members from Cizen Medical Foundation who assisted with diagnosis and examinations. They provided medical treatments, ultrasounds, blood tests, and prescription medicines to 681 troubled local residents who had been selected from the regional health board. On June 4, at Thai Nguyen University Medical Center, a seminar on the theme ‘Diagnosis and Treatment of Cervical Damage’ was held by Oh Sung-han, Director of Neurological Surgeon. A session on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Pediatric Heart Disease was offered by Choi Jong-woon, head of the medical service team. Dr. Choi said, "I was very rewarding to provide medical services to rural Vietnamese residents and minorities as medical services are not easily accessible for either group.”
